Please follow these special torque specifications when using ProSpec Head and Main Studs.

Use standard engine oil to lubricate each stud. Preload each head stud using a 3/16 hex socket and torque to 10 ft/Lbs according to factory tightening procedure. Once preload is complete, place user specified head gasket and install cylinder head on to block. Finalize the installation by following the next two steps in tightening method.

1. Apply moly lube to each head stud nut before installing. Following factory recommended torque pattern, torque the head studs down to 35 ft/lbs.
2. For B16A/B18C engines, apply 70 ft/lbs and for H22A engine apply 80 ft/lbs of torque according to factory torque pattern.

Before installing main stud kit please make note that blue printing must be done using the same main studs in order to keep accurate bearing clearances. Failure to follow these instructions will cause severe engine damage.

Use standard engine oil to lubricate each stud. Preload each head stud using a 3/16 hex socket and torque to 10 ft/lbs according to the factory tightening procedure. Once preload is complete install bearings and main caps for final torque specifications. Apply standard engine oil to each main stud nut before installing. Then finalize the installation by following the next two steps in tightening method.

1. Following factory recommended torque pattern torque the main studs down to 22 ft.lbs.
2. For B16A engines, apply 56 ft/lbs of torque according to factory torque pattern.

For B18C engines, apply 56 ft/lbs of torque to the outer studs and 49 ft/lbs to the inner according to the factory torque pattern.

For H22 engines, apply 54 ft/lbs of torque according to the factory torque pattern.
